My mom has been a witness for over 40 years and for most of the last 30 she's cooked a big turkey dinner with all that goes with. And this year...she and other family will be at my house and guess what's on the menu. lol And I have laughed for years when she gives the "it's the cheapest meat there is..." explanation. But, if I made a big deal of it I'd be eating at McDonald's or something. Nahhhhhhhhhh.

Any mention of Year of the Cat always takes me to the Grand Canyon. My brother and I were traveling and went to the canyon. The only tape I remember him playing in the car was...Year of the Cat. lol Strange connections I suppose.

My family traveled there in '72 or '73 I think. I was just in awe of the huge stadiums that we went to and my mind was more on that than listening to any jw program. I got to go to Astroworld by myself on one of the afternoons . It rained and I had almost no money and I was by myself. Not a lot of fun there.
My dad was not a witness but went to the assemblies sometimes and he liked to walk so I always made sure I got to go walking with him. That's what I remember about many assemblies...a lot of walking. :)
The other thing about the Houston assembly, a couple of mexican jw girls about my age taught me how to swim in the motel pool. So that was something positive at least. -

:::video technology, not trickery:::
Semantics. The whole idea is then to use video technology to achieve trickery...fool the enemy. -

Don't know about invisible tanks but the link to the guy with the invisible raincoat etc...that's video trickery and nothing more.
edited to add: well that's what I get for posting before reading the article - it's ALL video trickery then. Duh. -

The healing power of a Root Beer float
by Gregor inchill a big glass or mug in the freezer.
drop in two scoops of good vanilla ice cream and pour in a well chilled, quality brand of root beer and fill to the top.
drop in a straw and grab an ice teaspoon and escape for a few minutes into pure sensory pleasure.

Ah yes, the old A&W stands. Those were the days. Hires is my fave root beer though. It pops up in stores here and there but not very often. Think I'll go find a float now too. Thanks for the idea Gregor!

Nice pics. Not sure why but the Frankenstein guy makes my day. Kinda looks a cross between Buster Poindexter, Mick Jagger and a clown. Er, another clown.
